ISM stands for the Independent Study and Mentorship program. The program is available in Frisco ISD for highly achieving students starting junior year and continuing to senior year. ISM is a class made to provide hands on experience in a professional setting, and develops skill sets for public speaking, research, and interviews. The students in the program each pick a career path of choice to pursue for the year and then conduct interview with multiple professionals in order to find a mentor in the field. Once students have acquired a mentor, the student then conducts multiple research projects and at the end of the year presents a final product and original work.
